I remember the old, pre-Pliandure, Morrant balls, with the plastic-y coating that peeled off if any water got under the surface. And how much better they became, presumably after the introduction of Walter’s secret recipe.
And I also remember seeing ads for Pliandure, but I think this must have been later, in the Morrant mail order catalogues, rather than The Cricketer — I do recall being puzzled that a company selling new cricket balls would also sell kits to recondition old ones!
